T1D, Hypothyroid and Me.

G'day guys! Well this is me in all my T1D & Hypothyroid glory. Here you will find my obsession with Scifi and all good TV shows as well as stories and experiences of people living with Diabetes and/or Hypothyroid. I was diagnosed with Hypothyroid 13 years ago @ the age of 12 and with Type 1 Diabetes 3 years ago @ 22.

April 5th

Today is the 15th anniversary of the day I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes! (Happy Diaversary to me, Happy Diaversary to me!) I got a special “Type 1” shirt just for the occasion, which I will wear with pride to the workshop of my piece on a thrift shop that raises money for diabetes research!

I wanted to include the important items connected to my diabetes (my med alert pump), but also the scarring/scabs on my palm from where I check my blood sugar. I don’t check on my fingers anymore because I have a special cap that allows me to check other places, therefore saving the nerves in my fingers.
